I’m sleepy. I got woken up at 8:30 this morning by a text message from a co-worker. Sleeping sickly here, people! Oh well, I’m up now. I’m not one for lying in bed all day, anyway.

On another note, I was watching BlogTV this morning – just a conversation between an Aussie girl and an American guy. It was nothing important, it was just like watching a phone call or two people sitting in a bar having a laugh, and yet there I sat for a good 15 minutes listening to these people say ‘I have to get ready in a bit to go to work’, or other menial things.

I think that’s what the world of non-TV people has been reduced to, hasn’t it? It’s the new reality TV, video blogging. That’s not a revelation, but for someone who abhores television, especially reality television, I find it weirdly ironic that I should love watching video blogs so much.

I guess there’s something in all of us that wants to know what someone 10,000 miles away is up to at any given moment. What’s more weird, is that we’re willing to let people see it.

Anyway, this girl was eating potato chips by the handful. Now I want potato chips. She should advertise that shizzle.

I made a fun video this morning. Not that all my videos aren’t fun to make and more fun to edit, but this one really made me chuckle in my funny-space (where is that? The bit behind the knee for which there is no name?) because I felt really flabby in my face-space this morning. It’s a combo of things, mostly put down to the many drugs that you saw in the Forfeit Video.

Normally I’m quite self conscious of myself on video – I’m aware that I’m not a size 8 and that I don’t weigh 70lbs soaking wet, but today I thought I’d make light of that issue. Rather than skinny down for summer, I say chub up for summer – it’s more fun and the mens will like it. Well maybe in Germany, who knows.

Lately I’ve been feeling in a very reflective and grateful mood – despite all other circumstances (my illness, side-effects of medicines, hair loss, etc) I have been thinking that I am happy for what I have – like having a job that will pay me in full for the first 6 months of my illness, that I can apply for Disability Living Allowance when my wages do get cut if I have to be off that long, having free prescriptions because I’m a cancer patient for the next five years, having family and friends that are willing to drive me to my appointments and back without question, that I have people who are willing to come all the way over here and visit me when I say I’m too tired to go out and meet them.

They’re all small things, but without them I’d be sitting in my room, probably wiling my days away feeling sorry for myself with no money and probably no job. Most people will know that whilst we all have our bad days, that isn’t really my style at all.

What I have been pondering is what to do with all this time at home! The trouble with having so much time on your hands is that it overwhelms you so that in the end you wind up doing less than if you only had five hours a day to fit everything in. I’m getting so much less done lately – I seem to be doing massive piles of laundry, having to clean up more mess despite not really making more mess, more dishes etc. All the free time makes you lazy.

I guess that’s why I’ve thrown myself into my blog and my Now That’s a Face for Radio videos again; as you know, I abandoned them for almost five months because of laziness and tiredness from working etc. It’s giving me something to do that I enjoy, and the joy of it is I can update it five times in a day if I choose to.

Through this blog I’ve met some wonderful people and made some new friends from across the pond and I’m grateful for that, too. It’s given me something to do on the days where all my ‘real life’ friends are working and I can’t get in touch with them, and it’s also nice to meet people that you otherwise would never have known existed. The internet’s kind of awesome for that.

I’ll stop rambling now, I just thought I’d post, take care kids!

This is a video response to NTAFFR #028: The Forfeit Video explaining why I decided to choose the ’story’ that I did for my silent forfeit video, as requested by one of my awesome YouTube subbers! I’m sorry the ending got cut off, it was only a few seconds but it was a direct cam upload, I guess it does that, I never really used them before. Enjoy!

Basically, if there’s one thing that narks me right off, it’s people that judge how ill they believe you are based on how you look. When you’ve got cancer, you’re fighting for your life no matter how serious or treatable it might be. I guess I don’t want people to forget that just because I flounce into a room with amazing skin and fabulous shoes.

I can’t recall exactly how many blogs I’ve started in my time since I discovered the joys of blogging. Probably going into the dozens. What can I say, I have a short attention span with the internet sometimes; it’s so hard to do anything that people will willingly look at and pay due recognition to without spamming them every 0.31 seconds with the link that it can seem like a futile hobby to have, really.

Still, now that my Now That’s a Face for Radio channel over at YouTube seems to be taking off quite nicely (52 subscribers, over 2,100 channel views since June last year – I’m personally quite proud of that give that for five months of that time I didn’t update it) I have decided to finally start adding to this blog, which I actually opened and have had since June of last year. I guess I never really had anywhere to put it.

If you like it – please subscribe and leave me comments on what you think, video ideas etc – anyone who does offer ideas that I use will get a shout-out and a link in the sidebar. Thanks!

I’ve decided though that this will be a little place to do any funny ramblings/writings/thoughts/pictures etc that I feel the need to share with you lovely lot.

Anyway, I’m gonna go off and do laundry, because it’s the funnest thing ever, then I’m gonna load up on the 20 steroids, 2 anti-fungal, 2 paracetamol, 1 anti-acid and 2 anti-sickness tablets that my doctor was kind enough to send me home from chemotherapy with on Friday.

Mmm, breakfast.
